I find my DSRs for P&P go DOWN if I offer free posting, because buyers tend to hit "3", ie neither reasonable or unreasonable, rather than just not answering or giving 5 stars because the cost was zero. They deem him their worst enemy who tells them the truth. -- Plato0

I'm not sure if by offering free p&p whether using recycled packaging would put some buyers off, or these 'minor' buyers rate you lower on pp?
Also, just wondered whether people use new jiffys, mailing bags or brown paper and bubble wrap, what difference if any would the buyers rate you?0 -

Buyers know that if they leave bad feedback they get a voucher...
If buyers ignored the propaganda and started leaving 5s, ebay would think up some new scheme to mark you down on, given its in their (in warped ebay world) financial interest for buyers to be unhappy."Love you Dave Brooker! x"

I use recycled packaging and dont have any problems with DSRS mine are 4.9 for P&P and fluctuate between that and 5. As long as the packaging is appropriate and it is well packaged and doesnt look a mess they do not seem to mind. Also you need to make sure you P&P costs are very low (in non Free Category). Nothing will annoy buyers more if you recycle packaging and then put an unfair markup on your P&P
If I have to buy new jiffys its worth shopping around. My last set of CD size ones I got as a clearout from a local shop clossing down at 2pence an envelope for a 1000:D. I use bubble wrap but normally just internally (eg inside a box.) I have on accassion used brown paper but it can be heavy (you could be surprised) So I have sourved a lighter alternative I occassionally use.0 -

I was only merely suggesting, as you never know with some buyers.0 -

I have heard of people complaining before but none of my customers have. I do put a note in my listings that the packaging may be recycled0 -
Use a packet of butter to check the weight on your scales.0
