Painting Exterior Window sills/lintles- advice needed please!

Hello
I was hoping someone could give me a couple of pointers on painting my outside stone window sills.
The many layers of paint already on had started to peel off so i have scraped off as much loose/flaky paint as possible and now need to re-paint.
Do i need to use a masonry primer or stabilising solution first then apply one or two coats of exterior masonry paint?
Thank you for any help in advance.

I wouls also sand it flat and use exterior filler if necesary to fill any low points. You only need to use primer on bare masonry. 2 coats of masonry paint will be needed.
