When using Internet Explorer, if I want to contact someone and they have a link to press that should open up a new message in Outlook instead the PC goes doo lally and opens up 53 pages of IE all with an error message.
Is this likely to be a bug with IE or something wrong with the PC?
And does anyone know how I can fix it please as it is a bit annoying...!

All I can suggest -
In IE, go to Tools then Internet Options
Then under the Programs tab, make sure Outlook is selected in the Email section0 -

This happened to a chap in work last year sometime ... I think that tech service just reinstalled IE (but then that is our tech services for you ... there are only are two choices 'reboot' or 'reinstal'

It doesn't sound like a 'bug' more like an infection. I sugest you read through this thread here and use some of the programs sugested. Then try clicking a url again.
HTHIt could have been worse. At least source code's not combustible, or you can bet somebody at McAfee would have lit it.0 -

I agree and it's sound more like a infection that a bug. IE is not brilliant but I have not heard of that bug. You need to keep Windows & IE up to date as well as your Virus/spyware software.
Have you done a virus check?Regards,
Dave
If only I had a pound for every time I used the thanks button0 -

Have you worked through the first four posts of the thread recommended by ABH (post #5 above)?
That process will kill off most common nasty infections.
If you still get the problem after doing all that let us know.0 -
