I'm pleased that your daughter has always been so positive, and has, so far, always achieved her aims.
However, at some time in the future, she will be let down/disappointed/things will not go her way.... how will you ensure that she is able to cope with such a traumatic occurrence? Because it will seem like the end of the world to her - far better to have a contingency plan!0 -
Thanks everyone!
Daughter had her interview this morning and has just called to say that they have offered her a place:j:j:j:j:j:j:j
Thanks again.

Why should work experience be "fun"?0 -
As someone who takes on work experience placements twice a year I'd disagree with drawing on envelopes and the CV as this is for adult work experience and not a childs party invite. By all means include some art if this will form part of the work experience but like all applications too much information will be disregarded especially if they are looking at 2,000 of them.
Very much agree! I also take on work experience placements, and I have to say I really don't have time to go through screeds and screeds of information about them, a short letter or email detailing why they want to do a placement with me and what they hope to learn is more than enough.

Congratulations penny-pincher, although at first I will admit to thinking along the lines that she's too young, the selection process seems a but much etc, having thought about it I do think that actually its probably a great thing, after all surely its important to understand that we have to work hard for what we want and that life is not handed to us on a plate. She has been successful and her hard work has paid off, but had she not been it would have been an equally important lesson that things can't and won't always go our way even when we try our best. I don't think that 14 is too young at all to learn this.
Oh and I am desperate to know where she is going, can you give us some idea now?2009 wins: Cadburys Chocolate Pack x 6, Sally Hansen Hand cream, Ipod nano! mothers day meal at Toby Carvery! :j :j :j :j0 -

Is your job "fun"?
I've had many interesting, challenging and worthwhile jobs, but none of them would I describe as being "fun".0 -
