Time Limit For Charges?

basically last week we where on holiday in spain and we went on one of the arranged trips with my travel to go and see pirates in mallorca. for 2 of us it was €121. when we went to book they where mad busy and accounting for all their creditcard sales.
they swiped my card in one of those machines over paper so it inprints and i had to sign it. he also put my credit card number on a sheet and faxed it off. he come back and said it was authorised.
this was on the 10/04/06 but on my online banking it is not on there yet transactions later from spain are on there.
is there a time limit they have to charge me or might i have got away with it?

i bet by posting i have jinxed myself and it will appear tomorrow

I think the paper transactions are processed "manually", so they have to send their paper bit off through the banking system. All in all, it takes longer for them to appear on your CC account.

Add to this that the reps are probably awful at admin and might only get around to processing the bits of paper once a week ... and then they probably have to send them on to Head Office ... then you can see that it could take weeks to hit your account. Or even months!

I don't think there's a time limit, as such. You've had the goods/services and it's up to them to charge you ... whenever. Of course, you've got your money earning interest until they eventually get the charge onto you CC :)

I have had an electronically authorised payment made in the UK take 6 months to reach my account before, so I would not hold your breath!

Why should there be any time limit for you to "get away with it"? You agreed to the purchase so that means you will pay for it. No 'jinx' or anything like that if it turns up. When it does, it is because you entered into a contract of sale.
