Foreign Currency - Best Place To Buy
Smithers
Hi folks,
Is there a recognised place that is best to buy and sell foreign currency? Taking my girlfriend for a surprise trip to Paris in May and will need to convert roughly £150 to €. Any help on the conversion either way would be appreciated.
Thanks

Hi - not going to propose to her as well are you???? Only asking because that is how me and OH eventually did it nearly 24 years ago!! ( God I'm getting OLD!!!) Anyway, our local Thomas Cook is very good at exchanging - beating the bank and the Post Office by far - and if you do bring any back they will re-exchange for you commission free so long as you have your receipt. AND BTW they should always have that sort of money in hand straight away - have a good trip :beer:0

If you have a Nationwide current account that is the best exchange rate. Spend money on your credit card if you can, you get much better rates on the exchange.
If you want to take cash, http://www.thomasexchangeglobal.co.uk/ has the best rates. If you plan ahead, buy from travelex online, they much better exchange rates and they will price match Thomas Exchange Global. They send you a cheque in the post after you email them.0 -

Thanks crazyhazel and yes, I am taking her to propose, doing the whole ring buying thing this weekend hopefully - going to Paris on the 20th May so just getting everything ready.
Thanks again :cool:0 -
I like https://www.travelex.co.uk . You buy online and collect at your departure airport. Their exchange rates are the best I have found and they claim they will beat anything you find which is better.0
