Canon CD printing software

I have a Canon i865 printer supplied with CD-LabelPrint software.
I tried to use the software the other day and it came up with a problem with using the CDLabelPrint.cdb file.
I uninstalled and then every re-install failed with a problem with the same file. I got a Cyclic redundancy check when I tried to copy manually from the install disk and Canon's latest download won't even unpack the file.
I see other people on the www have the same problem...
Sigh. Do I have to buy a new printer?
Ta for any advice
