    One of the thing I would check first is how widely available the "cirrus" is in Argentina. Why not take a decent amount of money in cash and use your card as if & when necessary. You have to think at all different options available to you

    Yes, Cirrus is wide available in Argentina. And believe me, it's not a good idea to carry too much cash around in Argentina. I know it, I'm Argentinian.
