Charity shop vs Freecycle

  • I always give clothes, household bits and toys to charity shops and Freecycle stuff that charity shops don't take, like electrical stuff. I also Freecycled some sugar-free vegan chocolate which I thought was horrible - but it got snapped up within a couple of hours. You can't charity shop stuff like that but I couldn't bear to bin it!

I vote charity shop. My local freecycle is also a bit of a nightmare with lots of 'wanters' blatently looking for stuff for ebay.

  • Definitely the charity shop, since they could make quite a lot of money from a bin bag full of clothes. Plus, you are giving the maximum amount of people the enjoyment of getting them

Charity shop gets my vote. I tend to use freecycle for bigger items.

Same here, I Freecycle big items that the charity shop wouldn't be able to take and that I don't feel I can eBay for whatever reason.

I agree! I hate it when people are obviously looking to "make" on what they get for nothing. I have stopped doing car boot sales because people want your stuff for pennies and get abusive when you won't sell it to them.
