Trouble with Alliance and Leicester not saving Customer ID.

Dear MSers,
For the last few days, every time I close Firefox and relaunch it, it fails to remember my Alliance and Leicester Customer ID number.
I have changed no settings or have any new software.
It is not set to delete private data on closing.
I have tried in FF Safe Mode and get the same result.
It works OK on Internet Explorer, which I use for my other Alliance and Leicester ID.
Because it fails to remember the Customer ID, I then have to fill in the Birthplace box. But, even if I do make IE not remember the ID, I still don't then have to fill in the Birthplace box in IE???
I am really interested if anyone else is experiencing a similar issue with A+L/Firefox and has a fix for me?
Thanks to all.

you might have it set to delete cookies when you close Firefox, set an exception so it retains the A&L cookie

Big risk having a browser remember such vital security info like birth place just to save a little time entering it

In fact the browser doesn't remember the Birth Place, just an ID number that starts of the process of logging in. I never let a browser remember passwords and data like that.
The fault was affecting other sites such as Yahoo as well - But -
    Problem sorted.
The cookies.sqlite file in my profile had become corrupted somehow.
By deleting it and creating a new one, all is back to normal.
    Thanks all.
