cheapest travel from E mid airport to Stoke-on-Trent

My wife and I are trying to find the cheapest way to get from east mid airport to Stoke.
We are looking at the airporter bus to Derby and then a train.
Train is £7.50 each. Don't know bus price.
Anybody anything better.
All suggestions appreciated

Hi I've done this journey a couple of times. From Stoke (my home town)
I usually get the Central train service as far as Long Eaton railway Station.
It's a shortish walk out the station to the Bus stop, where a Barton bus
service takes you directly to NEMA. Cost wasn't much a couple quid I think.
Returning from the airport, I took the more frequent service to Derby city centre, which stops directly outside the Railway station. It's a longer bus journey, and I'm sure was more expensive, but still no more than £3 or so.
Hope you have a pleasant journey and an enjoyable stay in the Potteries.
