Last minute Rome hotel needed.....

My friend needs 2 twin rooms for Thurs 27th for 4 nights (check out Mon 1st May) for centre of Rome. Not too posh, but not backpacker quality either. Maybe travelogde equivalent for Italy.

I have checked hotel comparison, but not much is coming up. Anyone got a decent hotel they stayed in we could check ? Or would consider apartments.

We stayed here http://www.starhotels.com/default.asp?prj=main&sec=star&menuid=1274 last year. Nice hotel and really well situated.
It's worth noting that the buses are really cheap and easy to use, so a hotel right in the centre may not be a "must have"

My fiance and I stayed at Hotel Duca d'alba in March - it was superbly located in the centre of historic Rome - and exceedingly close to the metro too.

We're staying there in July! I stayed there about 10 years ago too. The best price that we got for July was through booking direct with the hotel - 100 Euros per double room with breakfast per night.
