I guess the water left over from steaming veg would have even more vitamins in. I have never reused this for anything, I must start....0

It's a really tasty way of getting the nutrients out of what would otherwise be wasted.

I very often do my veg in the microwave with a very tiny amount of water. If I'm making gravy with that particular meal, then it goes in there. If not then it cools down and goes in the freezer - it's usually full of flavour from the m/w. Just use it in casseroles/soups etc in the normal way.
Incidentally I never add to salt to anything when cooking (went off it when pregnant with DS1 36yrs ago - diagnosed with high BP - and started to flavour with black pepper and herbs instead) so I often find that stock cubes can be way too salty for my tastes.0 -
I don't add salt in cooking either - Kallo do very low salt stock cubes - you might find they suit you better?
Hi newlywed
- I got some Kallo cubes in B&M Bargains at the weekend to try out - not had chance yet but I know they should have been much more expensive - just what I love topclass item at rockbottom price :j:T:rotfl:. 0
