Electricity / Gas Daily Usage

Hi everyone,
I am trying to be more savvy with money at the moment, and thought it would be interesting to see how much we are actually spending on electricity... I recently switched from Southern Electric to EON after receiving horrendously high bills from Southern Electric, and so far am unable to view a bill online for EON.
However, I do know that between 26 June and 31 July I have used on average of 14.9kw(? I presume it is kw) per day for electricity, and for the same period I used 29 units of gas (not per day, for the whole period!).
I just wondered if these are high or low daily readings compared to other people. We are a family of 2 adults and 3 children living in a 3 bedroom bungalow?
Any advice/comparisons would be greatly appreciated! Thanks
p.s. I stopped using my tumble dryer just before xmas as the electricity bill we received was enormous!

Two of us in a two bedroom all-electric flat: 9KWH per day in summer up to 17KWH per day when it snowed at the heating was on. I could get down from this as we don't have many energy saving bulbs and I do tend to leave all the lights on!! Also our thermostat is broken on the immersion which means the water is far too hot.
Do you have an electric shower? What temperature do you do laundry at? Is your oven gas or electric?Declutterbug-in-progress.⭐️⭐️⭐️ ⭐️⭐️0 -
how about 12-14 per day. 1 bed flat single person.
even funnier I use 12 a day with everything turned off.
back to serious mode.
your high bill isnt too surprising with 14.9 day usage thats around £1.50 a day.0 -
I'm finding that powering my house (and it's gas heating BTW) is pretty steady at 450W-600W, spiking up to 2000W when the kettle's on. A minimum demand of 450W seems quite high to me, suppose it's the PC, hi-fi, laptop, fridge, etc.0

after my large bill farce I have been doing a lot of research.
pc's can use a fair bit of power but typically this would only be used when the pc is under full load such as when playing a game, things like browsing the internet wont stress modern pcs.
so a pc that has a power saving cpu and only 1 hard drive may well only use something like 100-150 watts during normal use and perhaps spike up to 200 watts or so when under maximum load. add around 50 watts for monitor when turned on as well. Obviously this may vary depending on spec of the pc, number of drives, graphics card etc.
the biggest power hog in a laptop is the screen, considering a screen will only use about 30-50watts then it suggest a laptop when in use (depending on brightness level) probably doesnt even use 100 watts.0 -

Your figures are way off the mark! Blue text on this forum usually signifies hyperlinks, so click on them!..:wall:0 -

We are a family of six living in a three bedroomed house on three floors. In the last couple of years I've done as much as I can to reduce our consumption without making sacrifices. This summer we're averaging 10kwh electricity a day and 5 imperial units of gas a week, so 22kwh a day. Winter our averages were 14kwh a day electricity and 80kwh a day gas although that went up to 150kwh on a few days.0
