Is this on a mobile? My friend did this to my phone when he was drunk and changed it to Finnish - its a bit tricky because the language of the instructions changes too! If you know someone with a similar phone look at them both at the same time and follow the same steps as the English one - so you can match up the symbols. on mine it is "settings" (shown with a spanner), "phone" - 10 down on this menu shown with a screen and a spanner, then "language settings" this is first on the next menu, "Phone language" - first on this menu and "english" second on the list. Mine is a Nokia - hope this helps - good luck!

Don't let him use it on an Administrator account then. At that rate he'll be hacking into NATO before he can walk...

You should have a icon in the taskbar bottom right of your screen to change the german back to english.

if that fails, ie not icon then try this open control panel, click the following icons, in this order, icon with a globe with a calendar, globe <should be bottom of the window,
this should open a new window when clicked. 1st tab click the black upside down triangle and select English (United Kingdom), bottom of the same window, click the black triangle change to the same, below this are 3 buttons, left would be OK, middle would be cancel and right is apply, but written in german, so click the 3 button last on the right. then press the left button, you should now have english language.

It must be a pretty damn cool phone if it's running Windows XP, mine survives on Symbian...

Oh wait a minute, you didn't actually READ the original post...
If it looks like a duck, and quacks like a duck, we have at least to consider the possibility that we have a small aquatic bird of the family anatidae on our hands
