JSA and start dates for new job

I got a new job yay!!!!!!!!!:j

Problem is that there is no positive start date, it will be around the 24th August.

I am signing on on Tuesday shall I tell them that I got a job offer and that the start date is around the 24th or shall I wait till I get a positive date to tell them?
The paper work will arrive sometime next week.

    Congratulations on your job!!!

This is something I have been worried about (for when I am in your position). But I guess one thing to consider is whether or not the offer is subject to references and stuff; if so you have only received a provisional offer, so could mention that to them (I guess) but it really makes sense to keep applying for other jobs.

I will be watching this thread, though. It's something I find confusing.

No the job is definate its just that the start date is a bit hit and miss because it's in a new restaurant so the opening date depends on the builders.

........and thank you lollypop I cant stop dancing around!!!

Tell them you have a job but no start date yet, that you will continue to look for work in the meantime and that you will inform them when you have an actual start date.
