Hey guys. Thanks in advance for reading/responding. Appreciate it a lot!
1. Tried to reclaim £800 worth of charges
2. 7 months later of correspondance and being told i would be refunded upon review of financial statement
3. 2 months later and im told to F*** off whilst offering me £35 as a "gesture of good will".
And because my account is in arears from the charges..... which I cannot afford to pay I can barely afford to live.... HALIFAX have now closed my account and put me to collections only. THats the account my loan is supposed to come out of. I got refunded my PPI back recently.
WIth interest and charging for time like im by law allowed to do, i think a fair £1000 for the hassle will do it....
My dad died recently, my mum was working with him in their own company, i have to support her and me. I have a loan to pay off for 5K.. do I:
1. Contact financial ombudsman and report Halifax's crappy behaviour? How long will it take?
2. Go to a small claims court as soon as they declare bank charges unlawfull or start a claim now in the courts? How long does that take and if bank charges are declared illegal and unlawful, do i have undisputable grounds with which to claim for even more than £1000 because of damages incurred by them charging me unfairly? Is this a good plan of action for many of us?
3. Destroy all of Halifax's buildings on a Sunday while noone is there?
Thanks a lot guys.

That is compliant under the FSA Waiver on bank charges.

Because the bank account contract doesn;t specify you can do that then you and I know that you cannot do that.

You will end up in jail so you know that is the wrong thing to do even though I can understand your perspective.
Thanks a lot guys.

We need to go back one step.
Do you have priority debt arrears(mortgage/rent, council tax, utilities)?
Are any of the arrears being paid off?
Is Halifax your main account?
Has any debt collection agencies called?
The last thing I want to say is my condolences to you and your family in what must be a tough time and I am sure this stuff is not exactly helping you in your time of grief.0 -

Thanks Natwest staff member.
Priortity debt arrears? No.... I don't fully understand. But in english that's important bills that need to be paid off that are outstanding.... I only have a loan that needs to be paid off for now of £5,600 total.
Halifax is ...."WAS" my main account but that's gonna mess up othert things.
I begin to pay back my loan in about two months time or so.... 3 months holiday period but im thinking of switching to a different lower rate loan (ideas.. santander and nationwide)....
No debt collection agencies have called. I got the letter this morning and want to attack this problem sooner rather than later.0 -
