Feeling low and losing faith in overcoming the charges

Hi Everyone,

Before I rant I will apologise beforehand if I am full of attitude, I am on my 6th day in bed with swine flu, have not seen the outside world for 5 days and I am in a stinking foul mood. haha

I have a hardship application ongoing with Halifax over bank charges and I am at the stage where they have offered Money Management to contact me. They didnt so I have contacted them. They say I have to wait for 'them' to phone me to sort it. They keep phoning me when I am working. I cant stop work, dig out my income & exp and sit on the phone to them for 20 mins dealing with the best way my account can be handled to avoid bank charges. So I dont seem to be getting anywhere as this has to happen before the case is passed back to the hardship complaint department for a second look and probably a rubber stamped rejection.

Today I have got yet another charge. A company has attempted to take money out of an account I dont use. I have complained to the company responsible who say take it up with your bank, I have spoken to Halifax who are not going to take it off. They had the cheek to spout the court case on hold etc, but I pointed out this charge has not been applied yet so I wanted to know how they were going to deal with it.

I know Im not thinking straight and I am just fuming but when you have been in bed all week, lost a weeks pay then find the world and their wife are just helping themselves to your hard earned cash it just gets a joke.

Thanks for listening to my rant, from a normally upbeat me! :EasterBun

Ok have I done the "have you got priority debts" question yet?
Just making sure that the repeat is not as bad as the original ;)
Can I do swine flu jokes or not good?

    Hi
Yes to both, sense of humour has returned. A bit reluctantly as STILL in bed.

Yep we have done the priority debts part . . .in fact my hardship claim couldnt fit the criteria better.

Its seems like its at a stanstill and its creeping closer to the date when they said, "if we dont hear from you we will close your complaint blah blah blah".

Is it worth writing to them again saying, thanks for the suggestion Money Management could help but have not found it to be a service what do you propose to do about the hardship complaint from here.

Because as youve pointed out to me before I havent had a NO yet. Kind of stuck.

Ps any jokes re swine flu, make them original Pleeeeease! haha

    Cheers

I think you can write to them and ask them for a financial difficulty closure letter to take to the FInancial ombudsman service for them to take a look.

    Swine flu jokes:

"I never thought I'd be personally affected by the two dreaded words "pig" and "flu". Now my entire home has been decimated by it ... Police helicopter just crashed into the roof!"

"Travel agents are coming out with a new offer: Half price on return flights to Mexico, Its not like you're coming back is it?"

"I woke up this morning and wasn't feeling well, so I phoned the Swine Flu helpline. What a waste of time, I couldn't understand a word, all I got was crackling."

You must be sweating like a pig and there's snout wrong with some repeated jokes :D

Ah ok, I'll find out about that and give it a try.

awful jokes! but still made me chuckle.

On the subject of the hotline if anyone has the misfortune of having to call it its quite a waste of time. At one point I had an untrained boy tell me that 38 was not a high temperature. hmmm isnt the Government warning people when your temperature reaches 38 with the other symptoms you need to call the hotline. :rotfl:
