There used to be a stall selling homemade cards when I went to my slimming club. Think they knew the leader somehow.

I don't make cards but I do lots of fairs and find the card stall is always busy at these events, especially with the lead up to xmas.

You need to get onto local stallfinder and find the events or local gumtree and ask for a stall as they go very quick.
    I get paid to party!:rotfl:

Folksy and Etsy are good, I know a few people that use them for handmade cards, its the first place i look too.
Just because you are offended, doesn't mean you are right
  • I'd go with the craft fairs and the like. I vaguely know a girl who makes beautiful embroidered cards - she did an art degree and she's very talented. She has an agent who sells her cards to the big stores like John Lewis etc, but she hardly earns anything from this. Her cards take quite some time to make and I think they only paid about £1 a card (which works out at a fraction of minimum wage) so this is not really a viable full time business for her. She now rents a unit in a busy craft/antique centre and this is much better, but obviously you need to have quite a lot of stock and perhaps other items to sell to make this viable.

In our local sheltered housing there is a stand in the communal area with cards. Someone calls in once a week and collects the money (from a tin by the stand) and replenishes the stock. The older people appreciate not having to go out to the shops to get a card. You could ask the warden of your local sheltered housing, or several, if you could operate this in your area.

Thanks everyone for all the great ideas:D.

I have registered for two craft fairs and i am going to take cards and also handmade memory books that i have made. There are lots of places you have suggested which would be good i am just nervous about approaching them as i'm not particularly brave with things like that.:o

Anyway i shall keep you all posted and try and pluck up courage to approach some shops etc.
