not charged enough money for sofa!!!

This is my first post so not sure on the rules. I bought 2 sofas last week from one of the big stores, I have paid my deposit and have to pay the balance before delivery. on checking the balance owed they have obviously made an error of a few hundred quid, its all been done on the computer and the salesman and i have both signed the document. Should I ring them and tell them? Will they know? Or will i get sofa for a very good price. I am presuming the salesmans commission will be wrong and he will query it but just wondered on your views. Thank you

If it was their mistake you'd be well within your rights to keep quiet. OK you'll have to live with it on your conscience - but isn't it worth it for the couple of hundred quid you'll have in your pocket?

If it's a big company I'm sure they can 'absorb' a few errors without affecting their profit margins or the assistant's commission. If it isn't you it'll be somebody else.

Are you sure that there wasn't an offer on that meant that you were entitled to discount e.g. buy one, get 30% off a second?

In law if the trader knows that you knew the correct price at the time of sale, the trader is entitled to ask you for the difference in price. A trader is not bound by a clerical error or by a mistakes in maths.
Otherwise the price on the contract cannot be altered.
