Hello everyone

Just got back from a week away, and postman has just dropped a letter through the letter box from Black Horse.

They have UPHELD my complaint. CANNOT believe it. So made up. However, the letter is dated 22 May, and now we are 31 July. So don't know why it says that date.

This is what the letter says

I have reconsidered your comments and although we do not accept that the Insurance was mis-sold, solely as a gesture of goodwill and without admittance of liability, we are willing to uphold your complaint and cancel the policy from the inception of the agreement and refund you those sums you have paid against the insurance.

In line with the award that would be given by the FOS we are also willing to pay statutory interest calculated at 8% simple on those sums paid against the cost of insurance.

I am unable to give you a precise calculation as interest will be added up to the time we make payment to you: however, for illustrative purposes only and as of the date of this letter, the rebate of insurance premiums would equate to £2,550.00 to which interest will be added to any payment made to the insurance at the calculated rate of 8% per annum.

So, if the insurance was 2,550.00, how much should I expect?

The offer is subject to me cancelling the PPI. What PPI???? It expired after 5 years!!!!!, and that cover for the policy will be lost... I am not covered any more any way. DOH!!!!

I am going to accept, as long as they pay me back what they owe me in CASH straight into bank account and NOT off the loan.

THANK YOU TO EVERYONE FOR YOUR SUPPORT, HELP AND SOUND ADVICE. WOULD NOT HAVE BEEN ABLE TO HAVE DONE IT WITHOUT YOU, THIS SITE AND MARTIN.

Kind regards

Dat's brilliant news - just watch em though as my euphoria turned to fury as Egg refunded my entire rebate of premiums, interest etc £4800, to my loan and I'm now having to start the grievance proceedure all over again to try to get them to pay it to me instead! Sure this won't happen to you though and this really is a great result - well done!!

    Hi all

    Just to add

I rang BH and they confirmed that my monthly loan payment would be reduced to the amount originally on my agreement. I asked how long would it take for them to pay me and was told about 3 weeks.

So, I sent off my acceptance of their offer by recorded delivery today and now waiting for the payment. I hope it goes to plan, but I won't count my chickens until the money is in my account.

    Kind regards
