Dont know if you can or cant but I threatened it and it was acted on, I also issued papers against the CEO in person rather than the Gov as they say that they are not accountable to Parliment and have been moved outside of their control.0

Even had payments that I did not apply for as they knew that it was a case that they were going to be told to pay me anyway!
They were only £25 though.0 -
Have posted on here somewhere before about it, bus as I don't know how to do links.
CSA had case for my eldest for 14 years, many complaints, referred to ICE who quoted maladministration by CSA, apology letter from CSA stated maladministration also. During the process of complaining I did receive 2 or 3 small compensation payments (£50 - £100 each). Only found out about financial redress in the letter from ICE. Put in a request, however this was to the chap that was dealing with my ICE complaint, he worked it out and it turned out I got awarded nearly all of the arrears I was due. I have to date been paid this (it did take a while for it to go from initial application to final payment) and the best bit was I am awaiting on a very nice little interest payment to be paid to me. So it does work, however the people who calculated the payment amount never got in touch with me at all. From what I can gather you ask for the payment, they look at the circumstances and decide what, if anything, you are getting.
I have now put in a written request for arrears that I am due for my son, due to my case being stuck and eventualy sent to clerical after a 6 month wait. I have been far more specific about why I am requesting the payment and have provided a detailed breakdown of the issues, conversations etc I had in that time. That was 5 weeks ago and I am still waiting. In for a penny, in for a pound though!!
Keep at it, it worked for me.

Hi Merry_Gentry
Just been browsing and found this thread.
I got financial redress for about £235 last year. I complained to Falkirk through the proper complaints route, and they offered me to put my complaint forward for financial redress.
I didn't hold out much hope, but a cheque some wqeeks later came through the post. No letter or explanation, or any CSA headed paper, just a cheque.
So ... it does happen, suprisingly. Good luck with your claim though.
The whole saga is on an earlier post http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.html?t=518465:wave:0 -
Thanks for that - oh look, I think it's time for my weekly call to the CSA :rolleyes:Get free advice before embarking on bankruptcy: CCCS 0800 138 1111 National Debtline 0808 808 4000
