Financial Redress - any success stories please?

Long long story, but basically the CSA totally screwed up my case (shock horror, really I hear you cry  ) Anyway, I originally applied back in August 2008, and finally started receiving payments in March 2009.
I received a 'Special Payment' of £50 to apologise for erroneous information they gave me, and length of time taken, but was also told I could apply for Financial Redress.
After a nightmarish set of phone calls, I wrote to them and they confirmed they had received the letter on 18th June. Regularly phone calls show the case is completely stuck - speaking to them today, the Financial Redress department are saying they never received the application, despite it being confirmed that the letter had been received on 18th June
. I keep being fobbed off with "we're contacting the financial redress office and asking them to contact you" and have also written to my MP outlining every step of the case. The office I am dealing with is Bolton, and I log each call, the person that I speak to and what is said.
I'm not holding out much hope - this is the CSA after all - but wondered if anyone had a success story about financial redress? Thanks

never heard of it but of course they won't publicise it anyway !0

They reckon for the usual mistakes etc etc they try and fob you off with £50-£100 or so, at best apparently for a major mistake you might get £250.
We also biding our time, major problems, CSA have not complied with the Law in our case,we have solicitor involved, and also ICO on our side, so once all cut and dried, will be following financial redress, so be intersted to see how you get on. Good luck0 -
CSA are still a shambles!!!!!!! Like the rest they use bully tactics!! even when they are wrong!!! plus not to mention, they never seem to recieve anyones letters!! never record fone calls!! deny you have ever tried to correspond with them!!! make wrong calculations!! make mothers wait for there money!!! Oh and there always right!!0

I have recieved a payment of about £500, but had to fight for it! Like eveything else with these people you have to fight for it.0

There are many FR payments made, anything from IMA gap payments (pre 1994 IMA that cant be converted) to actual financial resultinf from Agency failings. Late issue of MEF,s for instance. The £250 type payments are consolatory payments There is a actual redress manual which lists how the payments are worked out0

Hi there, don't give up hope and badger them!! I applied to them in March 05 and they didn't contact my ex partner until end of August 05 despite having address, tel no. mob no, work no. A fault on there part, they have guide lines - they are suppose to set up your claim within a month I think it is. Clearly this has not been done in your case. Find out why it has taken so long to contact him(if this is the case)and then seek financial redress on the maintanence calculation in place. You want it back dated as this is not your fault they are in competent.
I did and got 1600 pound. Am also in the process again of a financial redress, am claiming my case should have been at the stage it is now(commital to prison) at least 12-18 months ago and am seeking my maintenance payment for that period.
I would fax it to the financial redress dept and keep your fax receipt as proof and don't forget to include the hassle, stress and phone calls you have to make/endure while they have messed up again.
I have also had a couple of 50 pounds from them and just waiting to receive another 75 pound for basically feeding me a load of lies!!
Don't give up I think they hope that we will to make it easier for the csa, WHY NOT TRY GOING STRAIGHT TO ICE this is stage 2 of a compliant as obviously the first stage has failed miserably.0 -
You might likje to try this, if it is accepted that they owe you money, and before everyone jumps up and down it works, I know as I did it.
Give them 7 days to pay up or you will issue a small clam against them.
If it comes to a small claim then the cost to you will be added on to what they have to pay. They dont like it, but hay they are free enough to try it on with everyone else, so go for it!0 -
Hello, I received a payment of £100 because CSA haven't handled my case well. Not a great sum of money, for sure, considering the headaches.
I've now discovered that I've been treated just as carelessly by the Magistrate Court in that they held vital REMO documents for almost 5 months before forwarding them to London REMO (at which point they would be forwarded to the reciprocal country) This means 5 months LESS child support.
Do you think I could ask for compensation for this loss? Any advice appreciated.0 -

I think you find you cant issue a claim in the small claims court aganist the State. That is why there is a redress procedure.0
