so as to get the ball rolling and get all the arguments out of the way before the figures are announced on Monday...
the Halifax's Index is predicted to be up 0.7% for the month of July.

i'd go for YOY -3% and +3% - pretty reasonable.
month on month impossible to predict and doubt Halifax and Nationwide's accuracy.
i'd say it's realistic optimism. bought in February, at a 2004/2005 price in an area with 2006/2007 prices. i don't complain, experience of house prices in a previous recession helps...
whatever it will be, it won't change my life - so doesn't really matter0 -
