Moving into First Home - What does vendor do with TalkTalk account?

Hi everyone,
I am a FTB and plan to move into my first home at the end of August or start of September and I have a question about the home landline. My understanding is that the vendor has her landine service with talk talk, and her broadband with Orange. The exchange is not LLU'ed and she gets free (or cheap) BB.
My question is what does she do with the talk talk service? I want to move in and have the landline with BT initially - if she cancels the talk talk will the line default back to BT? I don't want to be landed with a bill from BT for a reconnection charge if at all possible!
Many thanks!
