tesco have been doing kitchens for over a year now.
Carcases - they do two options, a standard 15mm basic carcase and a "premium" 18mm carcase. The basic carcases are a waste of time and the "premium" ones are simply overpriced for what you are getting.
Handles - very basic selection
Worktops - very overpriced
Accessories and lighting - very limited selection and overpriced
Sinks and taps - good quality and quite reasonably priced
Appliances - made by CDA, which are pretty poor appliances. Also, they seem to be a little expensive.
Oh and if you want the kitchen planned, it'll be £10 (which you get back IF you buy) but no-one comes round to measure up, you have to do that, so if you miss anything that could have an effect on the installation of the kitchen, you have no come back...
Anyone looking for a kitchen shouldn't bother...If it looks like a duck, and quacks like a duck, we have at least to consider the possibility that we have a small aquatic bird of the family anatidae on our hands

As stated above, the decent units are well overpriced. Wickes are probably the closest match to them in spec and a better range to choose fromSome people don't exaggerate........... They just remember big!0

Couldn't agree more. However, I work for an indepenent kitchen company. Our entry level product (which actually exceeds the Tesco spec.) is around 10-15% cheaper than Tesco's prices and I could supply the CDA appliances around 25% cheaper (not that I would EVER actually sell CDA appliances).
Sometimes going to see your local independent specialist can pay off...
I could actually cost a German Hacker kitchen for around 10% more than a Tesco kitchen. Anyone else think they should stick to milk and bread?

I see that Tesco have taken their kitchen prices off the website and will only give you a price when they come to your home.
Sounds like they are going down the Moben route0 -

You can almost guess that they aren't actually supplying kitchens. They probably are subcontracting Moben or suchlike and using the tesco branding. I get the disticnt impression that is what Next do.Everything that is supposed to be in heaven is already here on earth.

That is exactly what Next do, but Tesco's have actually got their own designers now, and their own ranges. I went for an interview (but they weren't paying enough)

DO NOT BUY A KITCHEN FROM TESCO
I bought a Tesco kitchen a couple of months ago, Problems from the very start, including wrong quotes and then invoices being sent, changing the delivery date, sending the wrong kitchen. On 3rd attempt at delivery they send the applicances and doors but NO CUPBOARDS!
In the end we cancelled and asked for our money back. They agreed to a full refund then only gave us a partial refund. It took 3 days of chasing phone calls for them to confirm should be a full refund and to sort it out. Well hopefully, when I type this I am still waiting for the remainder of the refund to go onto my card.
If you want lots of hassle and incompentance buy one.

I think your being a bit harsh here, I know for a fact here they made the error of delivering you a cream frontal rather than the white you requested, the mistake was made by someone at a warehouse who picked up the wrong box!! They offered to resolve your prob & deliver the correct frontals within 48hrs but you wouldn't wait, people like you irratate me because your obviousley perfect & dont ever f**k up, they bent over backwards to accomadate you but you took the !!!!. Your buying a kitchen which consists of 100's of pieces...not a toaster that comes in a box, so therefore you should expect to be a little patient, how do i know this?? because i'm the muppet that wasted £40 on petrol & 4 hours of my time planning your kitchen & £5 in phone bills trying to help you....oh & i got you extra points for the hassle which you never thanked me for. To all reading this & i say this even though i havent worked for tesco kitchens the last year, there a company trying to break into the kitchen market with a good product at a fantastic price, dont belive scare mungering muppets like this that try to wreck a good company because they have no patients & no idea!!louisa2291 wrote: »DO NOT BUY A KITCHEN FROM TESCO

I think you'll find they are still offering a cheap product at an expensive price...

This may sound a little harsh coming from a kitchen person but I really think supermarkets should stick to being supermarkets and leave products from other markets well alone.
Put it this way I wouldn't start selling bread and milk because its not what I do or really know about.
Leave kitchens to kitchens people.
