Don't understand why, but I can't get to the admin page for my wireless router from firefox or IE in Windows 7.
I have a linksys and the page is 192.168.1.1 This works fine from my XP laptop and my Ubuntu laptop, but since I put Windows 7 on the desktop, it's not worked from there (used to be fine with Vista on there).
Firefox give me a network error page, and IE searches the internet for 192.168.1.1. Internet pages are working fine.
Using the Windows firewall - not sure if I need to make any changes. Wouldn't have thought so as it's just ports 80 and 443 from Firefox which work for other pages
It's not a massive problem, but a little weird. Had a look through some suggestions that google came up with - haven't helped.

Hi
I don't have a problem connecting to my router in Windows 7.
If you have remote access maybe you can try to connect with: your ip address:8080
Are you running a proxy in firefox? If you think it will take more than 3 hours to fix a software problem it is probably quicker to reinstall windows. 30 mins to install windows, 2½ hours to reinstall all your nice software0 -

No proxy.0 -
Can you successfully ping the router's IP address?
What is the IP address of your Windows 7 machine? (type ipconfig /all)0 -
A shot in the dark now.
On the bottom right, on the taskbar, there is a flag. Does the Action Centre have any problems? If you think it will take more than 3 hours to fix a software problem it is probably quicker to reinstall windows. 30 mins to install windows, 2½ hours to reinstall all your nice software0 -

I'll test when I'm at home.
IP address is 192.168.1.66 - hard set for port forwarding rules. This was the same as on my Vista machine.0 -
