Bank Charge Help

Hi,
I was wondering if anyone can help me. I bank with Halifax and due to personal issues i.e my wife is about to give birth I have been sidetracked forgot to transfer some money across from my savings to my bank account. This meant I went overdrawn by £128, I changed my my overdraft to £50 due to my account being illegally used earlier this year. Halifax have said I owe them £35 per transaction plus £28 a day :eek: This means I owe them £196 for 2 days  I have spoken to them and they said they will meet me half way! Which I think is rather unfair given I that am a loyal customer. I had a charge lifted last Oct due to a !!!! up on their part related to a cheque, but it doesn't show that on my notes it just shows a charge has been lifted. Where do I stand as I can't really afford to be paying out £98 for nothing?
Cheers in advance

Put something down in writing explain the circumstances and explain the fraud last year which meant that you reduced your overdraft as a result and that you simply were unable to cover the amount going out which was in your other account because of circumstances outside of your control.
See if they will refund it all.

Well I went to my local branch and basically they said I had to pay £70 no matter what  So a snotty letter is going in as well and I am going to start banking with someone else.

I wouldn't do a snotty letter. Explain the circumstances and chronology and ask them the question whether they will refund the charges. If you write a snotty letter then I as recipient will quote you terms and conditions, no bank error, etc, etc.
