  • All computers using the same router will have the same IP.

However some Internet Service Providers generate a different IP everytime.

Appearently it is possible to "reset" your router which will then give you a new IP lol

    FOUND THIS

    1. Opening the Windows Command Prompt located in Start -> Accessories or
Start -> Run -> Type in either "cmd" or "cmd.exe" (without the quotes)
    2. Type in "ipconfig /release" (without the quotes)
    3. After releasing the IP, typie in "ipconfig /renew" (without the quotes)
If the instructions above doesn't work, you can set a manual IP address by :
    1. Going to Network and Dial Up Connections in the Start -> Control Pannel
    2. Going to your local area connection
    3. Click "Properties"
    4. Click "Internet Protocol (TCP/IP)"
    5. Then again click "Properties"
    6. Selecting the "Use the Following IP Address" 7. Entering an IP address available on your network

  • Oh god, im not very good with technical talk. :D

You should be able to go into your router settings and you have loads of options. There should be one which is reset or re sync it normally takes a minute but then the router starts itself afresh. Sometimes mine does it on its own at random times. Some people will say this doesnt work as the IP is set by the ISP (internet service provider) but it has worked for me and i know for example people with AOL have an AOL IP in the AOL window and a different IP in browsers such as firefox.

Im sure someone with a more technical head could explain more.
