Has anyone noticed the terms and conditions today?
I was wondering if my daughter could enter (she only lives here 3 days a week)
anyway I see this bit
1. It appears that a small group of entrants are not adhering 100% to the T&C's and therefore we have had to adjust these T&C's slightly to protect all genuine consumers. Therefore from 1st September 2009, the following clause will take effect.
Only one minor and one major prize per person can be won throughout the promotional period.
Only one major and one minor prize can be won per household per day.
So they changed it on 1st september I suppose? Its a flippin cheek!
• Anyone intending to complain to McVities and to the ISP:

Please mention that:

the change in T&C's was made covertly in that it was not brought to the attention of entrants and that with 5 entries per code it would not be reasonable to expect entrants to re-read the T&C's every time they enter.

clause 5 of the T&C's "Only 5 entries per code, per person, per address will be permitted" absolutely IMPLIES that after 5 entries have been made the code can be used again by another person and another and so on as long as each entrant only enters the code 5 times.

you feel you have been duped into buying and consuming more McVities products than you would otherwise have intended by the promise of their T&C's which have since been changed.

The email address for the ISP (Instutute of Sales Promotion) is complaints@isp.org.uk and in the Magnum comp at least the man to contact was Edwin Mutton.

Please everyone send your complaint to ISP and McV!

And all because McVities tried to cut a few corners, save a bit of money and effort and not bother putting in place a unique coding system.
Werent exactly forward thinking now were they?
I guess our task now is to think our way round to still making it work for us.
Seeing as it is implied that swapping is allowed, we next need to find out what happens if one person wins numerous minor prizes.
Presuming any over the first are just disallowed but you're still allowed to enter, then we can still share majors....

'6.It appears that a small group of entrants are not adhering 100% to the T&C's and therefore we have had to adjust these T&C's slightly to protect all genuine consumers.'

..... genuine? genuine? Are they implying that we're not genuine consumers? I've got 31 chuffing packets of McTitties in my cupboard so how can they say we're not genuine?
Unless of course they're talking about the people who go in Tescos by us and enter all the barcodes into their mobile phones rather than buy the things... now there's an idea.
Haven't entered codes anyone sent last night as need to be clear on this first.
.... I wonder... if my biscuits aren't genuine does that mean they don't have any calories... bright side an all that.

Thank you to the person who noticed the change in the T&C's. We could have still been at this for another week without realising.

The fact they they've mentioned that as 'from the 1st of September' the rules have changed means that they will have to honour all wins made before that date.

They are treading on thin ice if they accuse anyone of cheating as I know for sure of at least one person who has won twice on her own codes without swapping, I feel legally that they could get themselves in a very sticky situation if they risked making accusations to any multiple winners.

Someone mentioned on here a while ago that they phoned McVities about something they'd entered on their site and were told that they have not got access to their information. I'm guessing that this means that because of the way the site is set up, ie - to prompt a win at a set time, that all other losing entries will have fallen through a black hole. I'm thinking that when we get a prompt via email to say that we have won, that they also get a prompt about that but the losing screens just do nothing at all.

Personally, I'm glad I was in in from the beginning as if it's right that they will honor wins up to the 31st August then i've made myself a few hundred quid which otherwise would have taken me months to save up. This past week or so have been soul destroying entering codes all day long for nothing and from reading reports on here I wasn't the only one struggling to win, I guess this was because of the amount of people trying. This comp has had it's day now, the people with wins up to the end of August have done well and the people who haven't won at all will stand more of a chance now.
• Morning everyone, well it was good fun while it lasted, thankyou to everyone who sent me codes last night but i won't be doing anymore now in light of what's happened, thanks to everyone who has shared with me, done my codes and just generally been nice. Gonna miss all the banter, and i genuinely feel like i have made some new friends on here. Roll on the next big comp and good luck for everyone in all comps they do. Kelly x :D (unless someone on here sorts it all out and i can go back to having a numb bum)!
