Anyone intending to complain to McVities and to the ISP:
Please mention that:
the change in T&C's was made covertly in that it was not brought to the attention of entrants and that with 5 entries per code it would not be reasonable to expect entrants to re-read the T&C's every time they enter.
clause 5 of the T&C's "Only 5 entries per code, per person, per address will be permitted" absolutely IMPLIES that after 5 entries have been made the code can be used again by another person and another and so on as long as each entrant only enters the code 5 times.
you feel you have been duped into buying and consuming more McVities products than you would otherwise have intended by the promise of their T&C's which have since been changed.
The email address for the ISP (Instutute of Sales Promotion) is complaints@isp.org.uk and in the Magnum comp at least the man to contact was Edwin Mutton.0 -

So Katie you say there are moderators, well I from my very humble opinion am telling you that they certainly arent doing a very good job, this competition is open to all and not open to outright abuse, this idiocy (that goes for all the people who are swapping) from just greedy people hopefully will be stopped before it actually causes any damage, i.e they could stop this competition, and that for people like myself and thousands of others who are actually doing this competition legit will lose out .
Maybe the next time you choose to do a swap rule no 33 might grap your attention and I quote;
33.The Promoter reserves the right in its sole discretion to disqualify any person who corrupts or affects the proper conduct of the promotion, attempts to damage the website or otherwise undermine the legitimate operation of the promotion. If such activity is suspected the Promoter will delete the offending entries and compensation or prosecution will be sought through the law.
So go out and buy some biscuits instead of begging for codes as we have seen already from peoples stupidity SHARING THE GRAND and telling everyone, well it wont take much for McVities to put two and two together will it!!!0 -
People might want to read the following related articles too:

http://www.marketingweek.co.uk/news/isp-warning-on-fraudulent-online-competition/3003983.article
Although these aren't exactly related because we haven't been acting fraudulently, I think this was what McV were acting on...0 -
I suppose another concern is that the T&Cs could theoretically change at any given time in the future. Each time some genius thinks of a way to stop comping tactics, a new T&C could appear without any prior warning. Given the amount of time involved in hitting even the £50 prize, I dont think I want to invest anymore time in this competition for fear of never meeting their criteria.
As I mentioned before, their payout each day is capped at £5k regardless of what methods people use to win prizes. So what is the problem? We buy the biscuits, and we win prizes.
As someone else mentioned, making each code unique in the first place would have put paid to any of this. So surely McVities comping dept must have realised what would happen.
As long as the biscuit sales increase, word of mouth spreads, and their payout remains within the alloted daily amount, I dont understand the problem.VR repayment £404 £156.02 PAID
Airpods repayment £249 £185 £75.90 PAID
Airpods repayment £144 £99.01 PAID
