Sorry to ask this.....never seems the right time with people being ripped off my the usual suspects BUT...Has anyone received payments for wins already claimed...as in winning 2 50's and getting them both...? Hubby and son won another one each and we claimed but never heard anything and wondered if anyone else had done this and got a cheque yet...?

  • well i really do feel awful now but in all fairness it would have only took a quick update to let me know any news

SOFTPAD has replied with her situation and I just wanted to apologise for shouting her name about the thread but I guess I just wanted to warn others etc.....

In all fairness I don't think that I jumped the gun as it has been more than 2 months since cheque received and what with all of you others have similar probs as well.
:j It doesn't get any better than this :j

Are you satisfied that her situation is good enough reason not to pay you? also why did she have to wait until her name was plastered all over the thread to post etc!
Big Thanks to all those who post competitions you are stars!

I phoned McVities careline on Friday & got an e-mail back from the handling people Monday or Tuesday It was a nonsense one about not receiving the wrapper (Strange I have a copy of the sig of the person who signed for it) but as a gesture of goodwill they would pay up.

    Still no cheque.

Me too. And a friend got exactly the same e-mail. Both £50s. Both with signed for signatures!! Fantastic gesture of goodwill that, losing the envelopes or whatever has happened after they signed for it and then saying aren't they great still paying out. We may have taken advantage of a T&C loophole but it is still them who is in the wrong and I would have appreciated a better worded e-mail from them, or no e-mail and just the cheques.

The e-mail was sent round Monday by the looks of things. Think the £50s have been sent 2nd class so far so they should arrive soon (well fingers crossed anyway!)

I don't know penelope, I guess I will just have to give the benefit of the doubt and should I receive anything then I won't object to editing my posts.

Really hope you get somewhere with yours. xxx

  • Why not get someone to phone the mobile number you have pretending to be from a sponsor (eg ITV etc) and saying you need to speak to her re a prize win!! :D

She may not want to refuse a call like that!

If you have someone's name and address and the emails or PM's proving that there was an agreement (ie a contract) between you to share the money, you can take them to the small claims court. It's certainly worth it for £500 and morally worth it for £25.
