Homebase Purchase

I purchased a kitchen from Homebase 14 months ago on interest free for 12 months.

I would like to put the balance on an interest free card at the end of the interest free offer.

I am unsure if this would need to be a 0% balance transfer card or a 0% purchases card.

Can someone in the know advise which sort of card I need.

Thanks for your help.

Have you purchased your kitchen on a homebase store card? if you have then you should be able to do a BT but if not am not convince you could pay off balance with CC and be considered as purchase

You're probably needing a card that will allow you to make a balance transfer directly between the card and your bank account. You'd then use the money from the bank account to repay the loan/store card.

Top pick for 0% deals at the moment is the Virgin Money card, 16 months at 0% with a 4% fee, minimum repayments 1% during the promotion period. And it's also the top pick for super balance transfers between current account and card.

Details of it and other super balance transfer cards on the stoozing site (supported by MSE) at http://www.stoozing.com/sbt.php

Have a read on other threads from people who have used the card, not paid or transferred it before the end of their deal and saw their interest rates being thrown up. Also various posts from people who missed a payment, didn't set a direct debit up in time and the problems they got into.

Thanks for the advice, the purchase was not on the store card, it is a 0% loan through a company that they use.

Unfortunately I used the virgin card a while back and have only cancelled it with in the last month so I doubt they would give me another so quick.

I will look at other similar offers to the virgin card and go down that route.

    Thanks again
