hiya,
We had a leak at the front of our property that took the maintenance company hunderds of days to sort out, and hundreds of pounds...And this was only because we constantly queried them and contacted our local MP.
I know this is a "quote" forum, but this is the information we received after all this time and money...
"The source of the leak has not been pinpointed, however we are now confident with the extensive amount of testing carried out and repairs carried out to date, we are advised by our contractor the source of the problem is no longer coming from your property. It is not inconceivable that there may be a natural spring in the area or there is a problem with pipework elsewhere and it is showing at your property. Water willtravel to the easiest point where it can seep out or leak.
In order to stop the leak at source (if possible) major excavation works would be required which would likely involve neighbouring properties as well. We are confident the water is not emanating from underneath your property and we know the pipe work at the front of the property is now sound after the repairs we have carried out.”
...So after all the money and time spent the only thing that they can tell us is that:
1) The water that's collecting under our house isn't our fault.
2) They don't know where it's coming from.
3) The best they can do is redirect it to a drain (but only when it gets to a specific level.)
Am I insane to think that:
a) They should have pinpointed and eradicated the problem.
b) A water build up under our block is NOT something that should just be left unsolved.
Any advice appreciated..
It really is no wonder that Britain is on its knees when this is the best that the "professionals" can come up with.
Cheers,
