Desperate Help Needed

Hi,
My old roomate is getting married in 2 weeks in America - Seattle area. I desperately need to get out to America, but do not have much money to do so.
What is the cheapest way for me to get there. I don't mind where abouts I go to in America (or even Canada) or where I depart from - I just can't afford the price tag that airlines are putting on the flights.
Many Thanks

Do you realise how big America is? If you land in, for instance, Orlando, how would you intend to get to Seattle?Gone ... or have I?0

You could try this approach - travel by freighter is cheaper, but takes longer. I'd have to agree with dmg24 though, in that America is huge. http://www.freightercruises.com/frames.php#anchorUP0

Easy to get to Seattle from Vancouver if flights there are cheaper, then bus from Vancouver airport to downtown Seattle.chrisjw1972 wrote: »You could try this approach - travel by freighter is cheaper, but takes longer. Interesting option, but def not cheaper than flying!0 -
You dont say where you want to fly from but considering it is short notice the prices will be high.
I found flights from Edinburgh with 1 stop for £587.0 -
I am flying Heathrow to Sacramento via Los Angelese with United in early September for £417 return, which I think is pretty reasonable. It doesn't have to be expensive if you shop around on the internet.I used to think that good grammar is important, but now I know that good wine is importanter.0

But you booked at least a month in advance. The OP does not have this flexibility.Gone ... or have I?0 -
Hello, I grew up in Seattle but have been living over here for years. I have found that traveling from Vancouver to Seattle has not been the cheapest route because flights to Seattle are suprisingly expensive. Southwest Airline and Alaska Airlines are the competing city hoppers in that area and they fly from California. US Airways is quite cheap but dodgy. When we returned to the UK we flew to San Francisco and from there to London. Kayak.com is a good flight checker too. I hope this helps. Seattle is a beautiful place, it's a great city.0

Hi
May I ask...
What is your age? I ask because if you are either a Student or under 26 you can get special discounts with Travel agents like Sta travel.
With regards to the prices you mention, what are they??
