Think I'm here for about 3 years as well...so will keep you company as well.:D:D0
-
Excellent - will be good to have company! Maybe we should start the 3 year club?! Dragon - you are right it may be sooner but I am not going to push for that - will be happy to see it steadily decreasing,
So this morning have checked my bank account and found that the DD I cancelled yesterday has reversed the payment out which is great. The dry cleaners will no doubt kick off but we don't use it anyway! So 7.95 back with us rather than them!Apart from that no change.
Have gone back to the scratchcards - have about a fiver on each so half way to a payout. Got 30p today!
Things I am going to do today:- Clear 5 things off my to do list (there are about 25 things overdue on it!)
- Sort out my home office and paperwork - this is a major job but until I do it I won't be able to check things or keep on top of payments.
Have a good day everyone.0 -
hi and welcome back to the diary land. as has been said before 3 years isn't forever, i've just realised i've been doing this for 3 years so far with 2 2/1 years to go and although sometimes it feels like a long time but mostly i forget just how long it's been. But at least you can see the end in the light and if you do it at a sustainable rate you won't feel that you keep failing.0

That is exactly it lemon tree - very clearly put. I need to be able to break the cycle of blitz, set back, fail. Working at it steadily should definitely help with that. Will also keep OH on board which is also important - can't do this without cooperation!0 -
£9.32 from Quidco.
£532.99 paid off debts - aim is £600 a month so almost there (trying to do it up front so the money isn't there to spend later!)0 -
£600 Is a good amount and is steady and you seem comfortable with it.
Have you factored in the extra stuff re OH moving away and travel and whatnot? I suppose i am clumsily trying to say, don't get obsessed with that figure, if life changing things get in the way.

Yep am factoring in additional cost from next month - but also we both get a bit of a salary increase then too - and I am starting some proper regular dog training classes for money (am all qualified now!). This won't all add up to extra needed but this month we should have a bit extra so I think the budget is sound. It is sticking to it that might be trickier!!0 -
Hi Mizmir, just dropping in to offer some extra encouragement (as I've lost track of the number of times that I've seen you offering it to others!) I'm currently 2 1/4 years through a fairly dedicated 3 year push to pay off a fair bit of outstanding student debt and while it's been a bit of a slog it's not a huge amount of time and I'm sure you'll stick it out :T
I think your plan to work at culturing good habits as opposed to beating yourself up for the odd mistake and obsessing on every little detail is very healthy and is definitely the right way to go. Whenever I try and go cold turkey and save every penny ever I end up falling off the rails, so moderation in all things!
Have a good weekend.0 -

I have that problem rubs hands together with glee.. as i too have had a significant payrise...now if only i could apply dog training methods to Mr.B:D:rotfl:
Congrats on being qualified too.:beer:Blackadder: Am I jumping the gun, Baldrick, or are the words 'I have a cunning plan' marching with ill-deserved confidence in the direction of this conversation?
