EDF Region Problem

When I use the comparison sites, London Energy and/or Seeboard come out near the top, EDF Energy very near the bottom. When I go to their sites to run the comparison direct on their sites, it will not let me enter details as it says my area (Yorkshire) is serviced by another EDF company and redirects me to EDF Energy. According to the comparison sites, Simplyswitch for example, the difference could be as much as £260 for Seeboard Energy or London Energy (Energy Online), dropping to £94 for EDF Energy (Standard - Energy Online is not available as an option). My comparison is with Powergen Energy Online (pre-December 2005), using 21014 KWh average per year on Gas and 3900Kwh for electricity.

Does anyone know a way round this please? It seems a little anti-competitive to make you choose one of the EDF Group's worst value tariffs.

Many thanks

London Energy's Online tariff is only available on the comparison sites. If you go to London Energy's own website it will tell you that they don't cover your area.

Does this mean that London Energy's Online Tariff is available to everyone, regardless of region?

Also their prices seem incredibly low in comparison with all the other energy suppliers. With so little information available about this tariff is it a safe option to switch to them?

It's available in 8 different regions of the UK. I switched to them last November and have been very happy with their service and most especially their prices.

Customer Services is handled by London Energy via an 0800 number.
