Options
hi,purchased a mobile phone from a mail order cat,279.00.3 mnths later i cracked the screen, phone was still fully wrkin,4 months aft that phone packed in,contacted mail order and told them full story including cracked screen, which was superficial, they agreed to look at it then contacted me 5 days aft having it telling me that their tecnicians say that it was down to the cracked screen,i personally don,t think they looked at it.contacted samsung who agreed to look at it for free.has a 2yr warrenty, was only 7 mths into it.lo and behold the keyboard was faulty so it got repaired for free albeit the crack is still there lol.anyhow where do i stand with the mail order company that dismissed me with a bogoff letter.many thanks

I assume Samsung have repaired it for free so not sure why you're getting in a huff really.

The original company would have had a look at it and put it down to the cracked screen, so your next step would have been to get an (accreditted [spelling?]) engineers report to confirm that it was not a fault due to the screen being damaged.

Granted the mail order company doesn't sound as technically minded as Samsung, but as it has been fixed by Samsung at no cost to you, with any future problems just go straight to them (unless you need to invoke SOGA).

No worries. Granted some of the less reputable companies sometimes do what you said, just always remember your rights, and be careful not to drop your phone down the loo :rotfl:
