Whining to the checkout staff about the perceived injustice is never going to impress, you only succeed in becoming an irritation. If you don't agree with a store's policy don't shop there.
Its the frustration of general stupidity thats become part of everyday life in britain.
Theres so many stupid rules and regulations prevent simple tasks being simple tasks.
Sainsburys refused to settle my coinstar recepit because they said you have to claim it the day you sort your change. I explained I had done to at the back of 9pm when there was no one on the customer service desk but she kept saying Im 'sorry theres nothing I can do'.
Eventually had to speak to the manage who phoned coinstar for me to authorise the transaction.
Why is life so hard at times!!!!0 -
Because a growing minority of people think they are owed something in life and have to push boundaries and live life by their own laws. Which mean the law abiding, hard working, sensible majority get punished as we can't be trusted anymore.
If everyone acted like an adult, we wouldn't get treated like children.0 -
Life's hard if you live in a third world country If these minor inconveniences wind you up so much, perhaps you should spend time with people who have real difficulties, it may put things in perpective.0

Silly argument. We don't live in a third world country and never will. Just because other people have it tough it doesn't mean we have to walk around with a beaming smile on our faces.
We're used to live as it is and we've come to expect things to be a certain way.0 -

Free Country - Have you seen the amount of CCTV there is?? What do you think happens every time you spend money on your visa card or swipe a card on the Tube with your oyster card.
Free Country does not exist matey.
When you spend money or swipe your nectar card they can tell what size you are.
Size of trousers, socks, pants, shirt - What prepackaged food you buy - Does that mean in years to come they will reject fat people from the NHS because they know that you eat junk food and wear XL sized clothes??
Free Countries do not exist - You'd be a fool to think it:rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes:0 -
Only reason I don't get ID'd in my local Sainsbury's is that all the regular tobacco counter staff know I'm over 18. They even start conversations with me now, which is nice but a little weird** Total debt: £6950.82 ± May NSDs 1/10 **** Fat Bum Shrinking: -7/56lbs **
**SPC 2012 #1498 -£152 and 1499 ***
I do it all because I'm scared.

This is a discussion forum so by its very design situations like this are over dramatised and analysed for the purposes of providing a bit of relaxed chit chat with our feet up during an otherwise hectic day.
If I really wanted to rant about something that really annoys me its people who dont indicate at roundabouts
You sit there like a right muppet giving way to someone, only to see them disappear off to your right without indicating! Your whole body sighs at once in disapointment and you often get abuse from them when they realise what theyve done and clock the bemused look on your face! arhghgh!0 -

Can't argue with that, wouldn't be much of a forum if we all agreed with each other!0 -

Yea, but this is the consumer rights forum! People are going to post stuff which would always be considered overly dramatic if we're comparing everything to what happens in the developing world.
I think we're all aware that on the whole we have it pretty good thank you.0
