UK branches in foreign countries?

Good evening.

I am trying to find out how many UK banks have branches (not subsidiaries) outside of UK, accepting deposits from individuals in foreign currency (not GBP).

In short, I am trying to find out if UK has any bank branches operating under the "passport system" (same as Icesave operated under in the UK) in foreign countries.....and if these pose a threat to the UK taxpayer, if such branches would "go under".

Can anyone point me in the right direction or give some info regarding this?
