Hi threre
When our computers are connected to the home hub via ethernet cable both machines can surf the internet fine.
When we try and connect them wireless , each machine is unable to obtain an ip address and says limited or no connectivity. We then plug the ethernet cables back in and both computers are give an ip address and can surf the net.
What could be cauing this , we have turned the router off , reset , but still no look.
the home hub is white and is version 1.5 , many thanks

go into the router admin panel and turn off the wep , then see if it connects, if it does then turn it back on and enter the key again
are you using Vista or XP ??Ex forum ambassador

You can connect to your Home Hub to check status and alter settings via your PC's web browser - Go to http://bthomehub.home/. Once you've logged onto the BT Home Hub, you need to go to the 'Advanced' section
the user id AND password are admin (on later software it forced you to log on and change the password from the serial number of the hub)Ex forum ambassador

Could something be interfering with the wireless signal? If you install and run this, you'll be able to see what channels nearby networks are using.0

Make sure that the machine is not trying to use both wireless and ethernet connections- I had a similar issue and my techie bloke found this conflict and turned off the wireless on the desktop. And now it works perfectly.
On my laptop I only use the wireless connection and often get that error message when I've used the laptop elsewhere. A right click on the the monitor icon followed by selecting 'repair' works for me every time.0 -
Hi Browntoa, is the above a known issue with the BT hubs , once again many thanks for your kind help
I'm trying to make sure that the wireless actually connects with no security as it goes, if it is he same on an open signal then we need to look at other thingsEx forum ambassador

It could be poor SN ratio on the phone line..... Which can be affected by all sorts of things like having the router or the phone cable too close to electronic goods like TVs, VCRs, DVD players etc, fridge, microwave, power supplies or phone chargers. The list is endless!!
BT's twin copper wire system is decades old and loves to pickup radio inference which causes big issues with ADSL.
With BT my connection speed drops from 8mbps to around 3mbps if I switch on my mediaplayer next to my home hub. Thats how sensitive they can be
It could also be interference on your wireless from another router next door or two doors down, if they use the same wireless channel as you, if will cause BIG problems. So if they have a homehub and you have a homehub and neither has had the channel changed then you definitely have an issue.“I may not agree with you, but I will defend to the death your right to make an a** of yourself.”
