  • I/We do not have contents insurance and therefore I am not going to put it down because if they look into it they will obviously find a lie!!
There is an incredible small chance of robbery anyway due to living in an appartment block which requires security ro allow entry.

I concur with FYP on your SoA. Also your groceries will be fine for 2 people.

Though if you are a lodger and are in a seperate room you should only be showing your expenses and not hers, also you won't need to put her contribution. But please make sure you talk to someone like National Debtline and see what they say.

    Looks good to me.

TigerFeet - is the housekeeping an acceptable figure?

    SNAP - thanks TF!

I wondered if saying he was a lodger would complicate things (and if they'd believe it!), and why he was paying all the bills. I think I'd leave it as is but LATL - you have to do what you feel comfortable with.

  • I am considering saying that she is my partner purely to uncomplicate the matter????

I dont want to stuff this up at all!!!!

It's not just for theft. If you have contents insurance with accidental damage and your freezer breaks down then you could claim for the food in the freezer. What would you do if you accidently broke your TV while moving it round the room. It doesn't take 10 minutes to sort out contents insurance online. Look at Martins article on insurance in the tabs at the top of forum, then see if you can get cash back from Quidco, Topcashback etc.
