Cheers Lee, let me know how you get on. Back to work on Monday after 3 weeks paid holiday, been getting a bit bored this week to be honest but its let me get on the forums and read up as much as i can on these forums about anything and everything!

I have £1,975.77 to pay off + my lovely gfs birthday to pay in the middle of September before i even think of slowing down with the ebay or overtime. Im using this thread as a spending/ earning diary and itl spur me on when its the middle of August and im tired and not sure if i wont the over time, il just check this then il be reminded i need the overtime, i got myself into this mess, im going to get myself out of it!

Ok so the intrest for my debt got added on today, that was £34.91, bringing the debt back upto above 2k:( So as of the 1st of August

Outstanding debt - £2010.68
ISA - £60
Current account - £136.63 has come through from Julys ebay sales, another £18.18 will be here from the second withdrawl so im really starting my account at £154.81, bad news though the brakes on my van have got worse so il need to get them seen to, i think its just the brake pads so it shouldnt be more than £50. Gutting for this challenge but theres some expenses you really cannot help.

So money wise that makes me minus £1795.87 in terms of money to debt.


I aim to earn the following
£1,088.26 from my job(according to thesalarycalculator.co.uk) which isnt including overtime, there are 2 Saturdays i can work in August that id get paid for in August so this would make a take home pay of £1,210.47.

My employer is also owe me travel money and theres a slight chance il get it this month but not too sure, im not sure how much this will be.

And i aim to make on average £15 a day X 31 days = £465 from ebay and however i can, right now i have 23 items on ebay, they all have more than a week left to run and i have 5 items with the 99p starting bid on already which i think is a great start, lots of watchers to, hopefully they wont leave it too long in making bids, i want a big bidding war for everything

So that means my income will be £1553.26 if all targets are met, this is without overtime, with the overtime its £1675.47.

Not bad for an 18 year old i dont think

Now for the sad part
Expenses
£70 for diesel(got a half tank in it just now anyway )
£30 for my brothers birthday on the 28th
£100 digs to my mum
£35 phone bill
£72 loan repayment
£50 for my brakes

So a total of £357 can hopefully be achieved

Which leaves a difference of £1196.26 without overtime, £1318.47 with.

With travel expenses i could be over £1500 without overtime, last year i got £666 but then i dont get as much this year.


Not bad for an 18 year old i dont think, hopefully this ebay lot will make up more than half of my £465 target. Could have extended this challenege into the middle of September as i get paid on the 4th but il need that for my gfs 18th

Sig is updated I now have 28 items on ebay, 5 have bids on, 2 of them are onto there 2nd bids though I have my only 2 relisted items from the last lot on again, they end in 6 days but theres been absolute no intrest in them yet again I hold high hopes for the rest of the items though, 8 or 9 days to go for them

There is an article on the main board on fuel economy - you could challenge yourself to follow this and get more miles to the gallon, and then add the money saved to your total?

Is saving by doing stuff like that allowed? Im not allowing myself to count overtime to give me a bit of a push with ebay. I have another 4 items and a pair of trainers looked out that il put on ebay on Monday night, i always allow 10 days for auction and dont want too many finishing at the same time as il have to come home from work to do it and im trying to have a generally healthier lifestyle aswel(lots of dog walking in the evening with a bit of healthier eating I am fit but my fitness levels are nowhere near what they used to be) I think my brakes might be a pricey job but i hope not. Going to pay my phone bill tonight i think.

Well the summary for the first of August -
Didnt spend a penny, but didnt earn any either Paid holiday so really i did have some income but wont get it until Friday! Today(the 2nd) might need to take out money for my phone bill(in my dads name) and may also need money for getting my brakes sorted ! Has to be done though so if i get it out the way its 1 less thing to worry about i suppose! Now im away to bed the gfs waiting for me, told her i had to "check my emails" when really im coming on here to post an update to keep myself going Night guys.

How long does it take for cashback to appear on your balance? Im scared im doing all this and doing it wrong ?

Well busy morning so far folks! Last night I went down to £9.90 in scratchies account just after registering ! But done the free scratchie and done todays so iv withdrawn my £10 deposit and accounts now ready to be built up from the balance of 10p! Iv done the sun bingo cashback which gives me £2.50, a betting cashback offer thats got me £5 and a survey thats paid 48p! So £8.08 so far today! The next payment is tomorrow so im going to count things when the cash is actually in my bank account!

Good start to the month with 28 items on ebay, 5 more going on tomorrow night, scratchies up and running and ready to go with some cashback offers! Back to work tomorrow after 3 weeks off, much less likely to spend

Well my update is that there is nothing to update I had a transfer out for £80 to the gf after she took out an extra £160 when we were in Greece, should have remember as i set it up last week. And i put £35 into a certain bookie to get cashback but im having problems with it Dont think im allowed to withdraw from them and seems like my account is frozen now ? But anyway still waiting on £18.18 from paypal, a few items on ebay are getting a good but of intrest, 1 item with 10 watchers and lots of questions asking for more photos, how many do they need! And iv got £41.28 in a cashback site that was meant to be paid out today but now the website says its tomorrow. Hopefully both of them go in tomorrow. And William hill get going with giving me my money back! Then its payday on Friday
