Hi,
I have been looking for a high def camcorder.
The flip video ultra hd seems to have ok reviews and an 8gb memory.
Anyone got one and has an opinion, or knows of a better camcorder for under £400?
It will be my first camcorder and just for home vids etc cos expecting a baby.

Hi
I have recently bought a flip ultra HD. I went on the mega shop bot from this site to see where it was the cheapest, I cant remember where it came up with, but it showed the cheapest at around £150. When i checked on Amazon seperately it was £121...
I really like it! I have an iphone which i take little video clips with of my children which i post on you tube for my relatives to see in Canada. They are just about ok, but the Flip HD is much much better. It is called HD but pls dont expect it to be anywhere as good quality as a £400 HD camcorder, but for something you can put in your pocket/handbag, record for 2 hours and comes in under £125, it is a great purchase. The sound is really good and also in low loght conditions it is still pretty clear. It is perfect for fairly short clips, and for sharing on the internet, is so easy. Hope this helps.0 -

I have a Flip Ultra HD and it's a fantastic little camera. The only downsides are no optical zoom and no removable storage. However, for such a small camera, at such a low price, the picture quality is fantastic. The HDMI out is a nice feature too.0

I've read some reviews of the Flip and it is a popular camcorder, a downside is the non removable storage, I'd prefer to be able to take videos and not have to transfer the videos to a laptop while I'm on vacation. But rival products don't seem to the great. Wondering of I should buy a full size video camcorder instead0
