Ideas for a Holiday for me to go to?

hey all,

Well i been trying to arrange a holiday to go somewhere for 2 weeks in the summer, but have a limited budget, so it looks like we wont be able to get out of europe. There is 3/4 of us going and so far we have come across Marseille of the place to go.

We are looking for a decent beach, possibly also have a good party scene around but its not as important.

Anyone got any ideas where to head or ideas they can give me from past experience?

Well if its a bunch of mates going you could always try Southern Spain.

My favourite is Fuengirola near Malaga. You can get some really cheap flights there - Easyjet, BA, Thomas Cook etc all fly there. What airport is nearest your area because I do know that from Bournemouth you can get cheap flights and also from places like Coventry / East Midlands. Accomodation in Fuengirola is very cheap. Everyone speaks very good English. You could go to www.surinenglish.com and look in the classified section to find individual appts or try www.andalucia.com that has a section for accomodation. In Fuengirola you can get Hostels which are a bit basic but cheap at the same time - or try a specific question here http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.html?t=26744 The beach is blue flag and very nice, the food is very cheap and the nightlife is good - I would thoroughly recommend it.

Nice idea there mate, is it full of British tourists?

I am flying from Birmingham, looking to get a hotel and flight package of around £500 if possible. You think i can come across that possibly?

Is there any other things you can tell me about the place apart from the lovely women that will be waiting for me

Thanks for the link will give it a look. If anyone has any other good ideas around europe, its a good point bought up that a place which has some people speaking english would be helpful.

Weeellll where do you start. Fuengirola has many many night clubs - some of the best are : London Underground, Heavens Gate, then in Benalmadena you have Kiu and the Beer Keller to name but a few. The beer costs around 4 euros for a pint of spanish lager and the measures for spirits are twice as big as over here. The bars never close - well almost never - and its a great atmosphere -

Thanks for the tips is there much else to do apart from going to nightclubs?

Also do you have to go to Malaga airport and then get a taxi here?

Malaga Airport - Fuengirola by taxi will cost you about 35 Euros

The train station is just over the walkway trains about every 1/2 hour and will cost you less than 5 Euros

There is a bus service as well but I have never done that

If you are out and about over there dont use the taxis if you are v drunk they charge extra just in case you are sick and thats if they take you anyway

Always check the fare before you travel- taxi drivers should have a printed sheet showing the fare to charge - some of them can be 'forgetful' if they know you are English and can charge far more.

How is weather in say July/August and anything else you can tell me about the place?

If you like it HOT then August is good. Dont forget Southern Spain is just 15 miles away from Africa - sub tropical !!!

Lots of good looking Spanish women over there

Only one other thing to look out for is the other english lads on holiday
sometimes they cant hold their beer and get a little silly.

but if you do get there I think you will have a whale of a time!!!
