postal order query

Hi all,

I realise this is maybe a stupid question, but is there any reason not to accept a postal order for an ebay item, someone messaged me on one of my listings this morning to ask. i usually set all up as paypal only as it is the default, and never have anyone ask otherwise.
Are there any likely complications as a seller for accepting one? They get paid into the bank don't they?

As long as it's uncrossed you can cash it at the post office. Plus, no paypal fees!

You can still pay a crossed postal order in at the PO if you bank with smile, cahoot or similar.

Ask it to be sent uncrossed.

If it's sent crossed, wait until payment clears your account before dispatching item. Until it clears, there could well be a reason for it to bounce (e.g. it's not legit)

i always asked for uncrossed as you can cash it straight away while posting the item(so no fakes to worry about) and it saves laying out cash on postage
