Asda lying

Do you phone up the stores every time you go shopping? The retail advertising laws need to be tightened up pre EU. Stores used to have to put 'exceptions' in their disclaimers.
The store fully complied with the law - if you couldn't read the ad properly that isn't ASDA's fauult.
"Exceptions to disclaimers" - that's novel.
I could point out that you could be sued by ASDA for accusing them of lying !0 -

In yesterday's paper an Asda advert for a Nokia 1209 for £13! The tiny disclaimer said 'Majority of stores'. Went to the huge megastore at Roehampton. No, the offer isn't there. It's only on offer near the M25.
Very naughty.
I bet lots of people went into ASDA to buy that, didn't find it- and spent 100 quid buying other stuff.Very clever marketing from the supermarkets.0 -
same thing happened with a laptop they were selling
ds and me popped down, no laptops to be had - in fact nice lady behind counter said even if they had had them they normally only send one or two
ds and me left, bought nowt - oly went to get that, would rather give my money to other places'We're not here for a long time, we're here for a good time0 -

I've seen some of your posts and the words kettle, black, pot and calling spring to mind.0 -
Being that the phone on offer was a Nokia, getting them unlocked to all metworks is easy. Most phone traders use a small clip to do it and charge £5.00 upwards.
Thats why they were after multiple purchases of the item.Never Knowingly Understood.

I wouldn't describe it as exactly 'small print', I mean I saw the ad a few days ago and definately remember the 'Majority of stores' bit at the bottom...The quickest way to become a millionaire is start off as a billionaire and go into the airline business.
