in Credit cards
ggggrrrr....
I am so not a happy bunny. this is just a rant so feel free to ignore!!
After doing a snowball calculator and deciding it was time to rid ourselves of credit cards i decided to take action. Starting with the Virgin card! So last month i paid an extra £500 (approx) of the balance.....i log on today to find this months statement.....and suddenly the minimum payment AND the interest have both gone up??! cant they see i am trying to overpay the bloody thing and there they are whacking it up. Its almost like they dont want me to clear the thing - hhmmmmm!
Plus i called last month to see if they could lower the interest rate....they told me no, not for 3 months....then they go and put them up without a word!!

Do you have any credit left on another card & do a BT if it works out better?
I know they are allowed to and all that, but it is all so greedy.0 -
CC Companies seem to be a law unto themselves.Best thing is to vote with your feet.Either pay it off in full or BT to a zero percent card.0

I have a card with them too, no end of problems. Am also trying to pay it off, and can't get another to balance transfer to despite having 999 credit score, because I am using 95% of my available credit. The problem is I don't want another card for more debt, I just want a better deal!
Looks like I am stuck were I am.0 -
hi everyone. thanks for the replies.
i have applied to tranfer half of the amount to a lloyds card that has 0% for 6 months. that will then give me time to pay off the remaining amount - hopefully within 3 months. I cannot wait to close the accounts down....terrible company.
trying to rule the world - we are in a similar position, credit score is fine but due to the amount of credit we have we cant seem to get a 0% card to transfer any money too. like you say i dont actually want more credit, just a better deal so i can get rid of the credit we have.
I shall plod on. gggrrr.0
