Boots Meal Deal Issue

I'm having problems claiming my free 6th meal in one month at Boots. This is being caused by the fact that the 7 meals I have bought this month were recorded on my 'temporary advantage card' - a paper card they give you in lieu of the actual card you receive up to a month later. Apparently meals bought on the temporary card do not count towards your monthly total.
This is not explained anywhere throughout the sign up process, indeed the lady which asked me to sign up asked me to do so in order to claim the free meal which sounded like a good idea at the time.
Given the meals cost £3.49 I wouldn't normally have purchased these without the incentive of the free meal so I am pretty annoyed that they now say I cannot have it.
Has anyone else had this problem and been able to resolve it at all?

Meals cost £2.99 here ? And also, they are correct regarding the temporary card. Get a permanent card, they only take one week to arrive !0

My partners bought loads there, and i thought he got his free 1s on the temp card before he got the proper card. He works there now too so i'll ask him and double check for you.
Edit: Nope, i stand corrected. You need the proper card. How silly.0 -
Sounds like a completely pointless and stupid rule to me. All it results in, is getting people annoyed and therefore much less likely to buy products from Boots. Exactly the opposite of what they are trying to achieve!
Perhaps a nicely worded letter to Boots head office customer service division might get you something?0
