New job how soon can I apply for credit

Hi Guys!

I've just started a new job but desperately want to apply for the bmi card with MBNA for the airmiles. I've two questions:-

- How soon with a new employer can i successfully get credit? (I also want to apply for the A&L account)

- I've been rejected three times for a virgin card in the last 18 months (last app 11/05) This is also with MBNA - is this going to reduce my chances of getting a bmi card?

Cheers

I'd say 6 months at least - basically long enough to show you are out of a probationary period with the company you work for - as this would mean your job is a lot more secured and the income more guaranteed. In the first few months you could be dismissed on a week's notice.
